After all charges against actor Empire star Jussie Smollett were dropped, the situation instantly became hot news across the country and the world.

The State’s Attorney did not formally recuse herself or the Office based on any actual conflict of interest. As a result, she did not have to seek the appointment of a special prosecutor.”
